We Support RELAY for LIFE

Relay for Life provides the opportunity for North Bay Mortgage and its employees to help find a cure for cancer. Relay is a team event conducted by local volunteers to raise awareness about cancer while raising funds to support cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services. The event is conducted annually in thousands of communities across our nation. Collecting pledges and walking around the track with our neighbors is one way that we can make a difference. Each step is a step of "hope."

Relay for Life is a time to remember those who have lost their lives to cancer. It is a time for grief, a time for remembering, and a time to share.

Relay for Life is also a celebration for survivors ... a time to support those who have faced the challenge of cancer.

This year, in 2006, North Bay Mortgage was pleased to be a Regional Gold Sponsor for both the South Kitsap Relay for Life and the North Mason Relay for Life.

NORTH MASON

"Hope Floats!" was the theme for the 8th annual North Mason 2006 Relay For Life. The event ran for 18-hours from 7 pm Friday, June 16, to 1 pm Saturday June 17, at the North Mason High School stadium.

SOUTH KITSAP

The South Kitsap Relay For Life was held on Friday and Saturday, June 9 & 10 at the South Kitsap High School track in Port Orchard.

The event opened with a Survivors' lap at 6pm. The luminaria ceremony began at 10pm and was a moving experience. The event concluded with a final 'all hands lap' at 2pm Saturday.

Event organizer Bek Ashby reported that over 50 teams participated in this year's event. Almost $200,000 was raised to benefit the American Cancer Society.
