Fathoms O'PENS

Port Orchard celebrates the summer with a giant Fathoms O'Fun Festival, Carnival and Parade on the downtown waterfront. This events lasts about five days and is chock-full of food, games, fireworks and FUN for all.

North Bay Mortgage was pleased to sponsor two live bands and a full afternoon of rockin' music during the Vendor Fair on Saturday. The "Rhythm Rockets" played from 11 to 1pm, followed by "Cabin Fever," from 2 to 5pm. The bands were excellent and well-received by the crowds visiting the many vendors.

Of course, Mike set up a booth and brought along his big yellow fire truck with a stash of yellow frisbees, t-shirts, giveaways and of course, PENS. (We are having a Great PEN Contest, you know!)

Bek Ashby of our Port Orchard office came up with a FUN way for the festival goers to visit the Downtown Port Orchard Merchants. North Bay Mortgage PENS were displayed in the shop windows along Bay Street. Festival goers were invited to count the PENS and enter to win a giant gift basket donated by the merchants. Ruth Karakas of Port Orchard won the prize! You can see some of the displays in the photos below.

At about 5pm, people began lining the sidewalks and curbs in anticipation of the spectacular Fathoms O'Fun Parade. With 110 entries, 1500 participants and over 10,000 viewers, this parade lived up to its nickname of the "Grand Daddy" of all Kitsap County Parades. It was even aired on public television!

Accompanied by the Great PEN MAN, the big yellow North Bay Mortgage fire truck was a hit as a selection of golden oldies blared from its speakers and Mike and staff handed out goodies to everyone along the parade route.

Now, that's what we call FUN!
